Reforestation
The recovery of riparian areas is one of the main environmental activities developed by Renuka do Brasil due to the importance of this vegetation for the biodiversity preservation and maintenance of the ecosystem balance.
All the extensions of riparian areas that surround sugarcane fields are properly protected and isolated. The distance determined by the current environmental legislation (Forestry Code – Law 4.771/1965) are respected in order to adequately isolate and protect the development and regeneration of the existing vegetation.
In recent years, Renuka do Brasil has realized reforestation in more than 258 hectares; the equivalent of 431,000 native arboreal seedlings, planted in riparian areas and has a schedule for reforestation of over 350 native seedlings to be planted by 2013.
